Valentine’s Yoga Love for Shelter Pets

Sanctuary Yoga Studios in New City is hosting the third annual Yoga Love for Shelter Pets yoga class from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 16. “Celebrate our third year helping those who bring us so much joy,” says studio owner Nancy Mahon.

One hundred percent of proceeds go to Hi- Tor Animal Shelter.

Join the volunteers of Hi-Tor Animal Shelter, the yoga teachers of Sanctuary Yoga Studios and Manduka Yoga Mats for a healthy, harmonious and rejuvenating yoga class. “We are a welcoming studio filled with yoga, friendship and healing love for animals that are waiting for their future mom and dad, sisters and brothers to adopt them,” says Mahon.

The 90 minute all levels yoga class features four of Rockland County’s best yoga teachers. There will also be raffle prizes from Manduka, Starbucks and other local businesses such as salons, spas, clothing stores and restaurants.

Participants are asked to bring a shelter item to donate along with $20 cash or a check made out to Hi-Tor. “Look in your closets for blankets you don't use,” suggests Mahon. “Maybe you have a pet that has way too many toys, litter or pet food. Learn about the adoptive pets available for homes. They are looking for their own sanctuary, just like we are.”

Location: Sanctuary Yoga Studios, 132 Park Ave., New City NY. Limited to 24 participants. To register, call 548-1090 or visit SanctuaryYogaStudios.com.
