Kathleen S. McPhillips will facilitate a spiritual retreat for women, “The Call of Midlife,” on Saturday, April 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Newburgh.
“The retreat will focus on the beauty and opportunities we are meant to seek and experience during menopause at midlife and beyond,” says McPhillips.
“There are many cultures that recognize this as a sacred time for a woman, however many see this as a time of inconvenience, misery and suffering through hot flashes, memory loss, physical and emotional change. But what if we change our thoughts and consider midlife to be a time of awakening to our highest self?”
McPhillips will share her spiritual journey by taking participants through the call of midlife, leading to a deeper connection within. “We will redirect our thoughts about midlife to be more receptive to the gifts of this empowering and liberating time in a woman's life,” she says.
The retreat includes easy yoga movement and breath work. Attendees are asked to wear comfortable clothes and bring a journal, pen, yoga mat and meditation cushion/pillow. Chai and refreshments will be served.
Kathleen S. McPhillips is a registered yoga teacher, Reiki master, author of Adirondack Retreat: My Midlife Journey to Wholeness, retreat facilitator and spiritual guide.
