Safe Haven Arts Now Accepts Cigna

Licensed Creative Arts Therapist Lorraine Murphy, owner of Safe Haven Arts in Highland Mills, is pleased to announce her participation in the Cigna network. “As art therapy becomes more widespread with proven effectiveness, insurance companies are starting to follow suit,” she explains. “Cigna is a leader in this by bringing qualified art therapy providers into their network. Many other health insurance companies are moving in a similar direction through out-of-network reimbursement for art therapy services.”

Murphy, who has almost 20 years’ experience working with adults, children and adolescents through art therapy and counseling services, shares, “Art therapy is an engaging and non-threatening way of accessing underlying psychological influences. By providing a safe outlet for thoughts, feelings and drives, one can utilize this energy constructively to find balance and achieve goals.”

She wholeheartedly supports Cigna’s recognition for the field of art therapy and the growing opportunities for individuals and groups to receive expressive therapy services.
