Rondout Valley Organics (RVO), an online marketplace for local foods, proudly offers flavorful, fresh products grown in the Rondout Valley region all year round. RVO members have year-round access to produce, meats, cheeses, eggs, seedlings and more from a variety of area producers.
Oleh and Nadia Maczaj, owners of Rusty Plough Farm, manage RVO along with their organic vegetable operation. The pair encourages members of the community to join RVO for easy, reliable, convenient access not only to their farm’s vegetables, but also to a variety of products from other local growers. RVO members order food with their prepaid account for pickup at a convenient location. This shop-at-home grocery store excitedly welcomes Tongore Brook Farm from Stone Ridge, growing wonderful pea shoots in a most efficient greenhouse. There’s grass-fed beef from Sophie’s Farm in Kerhonkson and Twin Spruce Farm in Accord. Local duck comes from Bonticou Ducks in High Falls and more winter greens come from Freshies Aquaponics in West Shokan. “Our region is blessed with an incredibly rich variety of growers and RVO makes it really easy to enjoy the fruits of their labors,” assures Oleh.
RVO members can choose from a number of pickup locations including Ellenville, Wawarsing, Kerhonkson, Stone Ridge, Kingston, Cragsmoor and Olive. “New this year is a pickup at the Mamakating Library in Wurtsboro. One-stop downtown for weekly reading materials and your local farm products,” adds Oleh.
As one happy member cheered, “Everything is sooo wonderful!”
