Blue Rock School invites four- and fiveyear- olds and their parents to a free children’s event being hosted by Blue Rock School from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 26.
Children can enjoy a fall harvest-themed morning with Blue Rock School's kindergarten staff that includes storytelling, crafts, homemade snacks and free play on the school’s beautiful, four-acre wooded campus. Magical play spaces abound, as the property has numerous creative play structures and a sandbox among the flower gardens.
While children play, parents are welcome to participate in a discussion on “The Importance of Play in a Child's Learning” moderated by Blue Rock School staff.
Blue Rock School is a progressive, independent day school serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade, and is located on a beautiful, four-acre, wooded campus. The school was founded in 1987 with the purpose of providing a rich educational experience based on a child-centered and hands-on approach that nurtures children’s innate love of learning, enables them to follow their own natural curiosity and helps them develop as independent thinkers and grow in a dynamic learning community. The small class size helps students engage in a challenging academic curriculum which is balanced and fully integrated with the arts, nature and play. Blue Rock School also offers Summer Play, a five-week Summer Camp which is open to the community for children ages 3 1/2 to 12.
Location: 110 Demarest Mill Rd. (off Germonds Rd.), West Nyack. Event is rain or shine. Space is limited. Please call 535-3353 to reserve your spot. For more information on Blue Rock School, visit BlueRockSchool.org.
