Fitchick Fitness Offers CPR and First Aid Classes

“Would you know what to do if someone near you had a heart attack, stopped breathing, or went into cardiac arrest as the result of an accident or illness?” asks Randi Colton, founder of FitChick Fitness.

According to the American Heart Association, coronary heart disease is America’s number one killer. “Stroke is the number three and a leading cause of serious disability,” says Colton. “About 75 to 80 percent of all out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at home.”

CPR courses are recommended for caregivers of loved ones with heart problems, caregivers of children, corporate employees, first responders, healthcare professionals, or anyone who simple wants to be prepared for an unforeseen medical emergency.

“The CPR courses that FitChick Fitness offers are designed to provide members of the community with important information about heart attack prevention and recognition as well as professional training in the life-saving techniques so vital in preventing death from sudden cardiac arrest,” explains Colton.

FitChick Fitness teaches techniques that are easy to learn, based on the most up-to-date science, and require just one or two short sessions to master. Program schedules are flexible and designed to make it easy for the participants.

“Being trained to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) could make the difference between life and death for a loved one,” says Colton. “Effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after cardiac arrest, can more than double a victim’s chance of survival.”
