Empowering your Child with Centered Martial Arts

On August 5 at noon, the Fire Mountain School of Resilience Fitness Training and Centered Martial Arts invites the community to experience the awesome power of Yi. “There is more to Centered Chinese Martial Arts (CCMA) training than kicks, blocks and fighting. More than respect, discipline and focus. These are all important elements of CCMA training, tools and lessons that serve the greater purpose of building spiritual power to protect and nurture life,” says Sifu Ed D'Urso, founder of the Fire Mountain School of Resilience Fitness Training and Centered Martial Arts. “But, it all begins with what the Chinese call Yi and it is the spiritual energy that precedes growth and change.”

In the past, it took years for people to experience Yi and even more years to master using it. Now, thanks to the collaborative translation efforts of Master Tian Min Wang and Sifu Ed D'Urso, Yi has been accurately translated and can now be experienced in minutes.

“Training becomes a feat of coordinated power of mind, body and spirit,” explains D’Urso. “The ability to access this power and act is centered power and it sets stage for greater power. Every extension of Yi is success, growth and change. With these powers children have the ability to grow safe, empowered and whole, filled with wonder, curiosity, hope and resilience.”

Location: 53 Hudson Ave., Nyack. For more information go to TheFireMountainSchool.com or contact Sifu Ed D’Urso at 893-3160.
