Curves Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and New City Curves is honoring the month with a new sign-up special and a fundraising Zumba® class.

During October, New City Curves will offer non-members who bring in proof of a mammogram performed within the last year, or who make a $25 donation to breast cancer research, no service fees with a 12-month draft membership. Curves also will be giving away the Liv Aid device to the first 25 new members who join for 12 months.

The Liv Aid tool, promoted by breast cancer survivor Olivia Newton-John, is like a magnifying glass for the fingers. It is an FDA approved and patented medical device designed to enhance a woman's ability to notice changes in her breast tissue and feel lumps or irregularities. The staff at Curves New City aims to put this device into the hands of as many women as they can.

In addition, a portion of the proceeds of Lyndada's Zumba class being held at 9 a.m. on October 5 will go to breast cancer research. Minimum donation is $15 for the class.

Curves of New City also announces new body sculpting classes to members only. The classes—which will target arms, core and legs—will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Location: 69 South Main St., New City. For more information, call 708-0700 or visit NewCityCurves.com.
